In March 2016 I began training at MissFit after the birth of my third child. I was 89kg, unfit and with an unhealthy eating habit. That July I had an operation to remove my gall bladder as it had developed painful gall stones as a result of years of overindulging. Soon after I was back at training and had realised I needed to change. I no longer wanted to continue on my current path of poor food choices. So when asked if I was interested in taking part in the MissFit PHAT challenge at the start of the following year I was nervous, but knew in my heart it would help me get to where I wanted to be.

When I committed to doing the 12 week challenge I didn’t realise how much it would change my life.  I remember my first day of the challenge and how anxious I was. Not because of the amount of training involved, but because of the diet I needed to stick to in order to achieve my goal of 10kg weight loss in 12 weeks.  I knew if I could just channel my emotional eating into something else (my training) I would reach my weight loss goal.

What I didn’t realise was not only did I subdue my emotional eating habit but I also regained my confidence and improved my self-perception.  Each week I committed to following the set meal plans, spent a day buying and prepping my food for the week and stuck to it. By week 4 I was feeling great and began really noticing the improvement in my fitness and weight loss.

I was not alone in my challenge, each week I was supported by the other participants and trainers. If I needed to ask anything they were always there for advice and support. Each week one of the trainers touched base to see how I was going which made me feel accountable and focussed.

I lost 9kg on the challenge and am ecstatic with my achievement.  If anyone wants to get the results that they are looking for I cannot recommend the MissFit crew highly enough to help you achieve your fitness goals.
