Women Shouldn’t Weight Train Because They Will Bulk Up!

WRONG! Girls this is just NOT true for so many reasons.

It is a shame that so many women I come across think they will “bulk up” and look like men if they weight train. No doubt your trusty trainer at MISSFIT PT has converted you to think otherwise!

Very few women have the genetic endowment to develop a large and defined masculine body. Sure, we all come in different shapes and sizes, I appreciate that, but unless you are taking anabolic steroids (synthetic testosterone) along with other performance enhancing drugs you will not achieve that level of masculinity from your weight training. Fact, women produce about one tenth of the amount of testosterone that is produced by the body of a “normal” man. It is because of this that it is impossible for women to gain huge amounts of muscle mass by doing some weight training.

Instead by incorporating weight training into your fitness regime you will lose fat, increase in strength and bone density all of which can prevent the onset of osteoporosis and other age and lifestyle related afflictions like diabetes.

Women who conduct weight training along with other cardiovascular activity generally achieve a firm and fit cellulite-free looking body. Isn’t this what we all aspire to have?

MISSFIT’s weight training motto: “Lift heavy things to change your body”. But always ensure you are lifting correctly with the right form, posture and technique to avoid injury.

It’s a great feeling to be physically strong as a woman, so keep pumping! MISSFIT.
